During Your Exchange

HALLYM UNIVERSITY

Once you arrive on campus, you will be directed to Global Engagement Center (following the instructions sent to you before your departure from your home country). You will be emailed  your  academic timetable shortly before arrival in Korea.

You will also begin the process of applying for your 'Alien Registration Card' ARC during your first day on campus, around two week later all exchange students will visit immigration to register their finger print scans. It takes around 4-6 weeks to receive your ARC.

The orientation for all new exchange students typically takes place on the Friday before the start of the new academic semester. It is vital you attend so that you have the opportunity to meet all of the new exchange students and coordinators and other key figureheads of Hallym University.

The first week on campus is a very important time to bond with all of your new international and Korean friends, so please consider delaying your first weekend trip to explore Korea until after the first week.

Incoming exchange students are encouraged to join Hallym's  student clubs and sports clubs. This is possible by signing up for them during the first week of the semester during the various recruitment fairs.

During the weekends, most exchange students like to explore Korea. Seoul is a one-hour bus or train journey away with a one-way journey typically costing around $6

Chuncheon also has lots of things to offer exchange students, especially if you are an 'outdoors' kind of person!
