Hallym University selected as an excellent university for regional cooperation
Eleven universities selected as excellent universities in nine fields, including ESG management, innovation support projects, and regional cooperation.
□ Hallym University was selected as an excellent university for regional cooperation at the 2022 awards ceremony held by the Korean University Newspaper.
□ The Korean University Newspaper has selected and awarded prizes to excellent universities by field since 2005 in order to widely publicize the efforts of university management and faculty who play a pivotal role in university development.
□ The award ceremony was attended by Hwang Hyun-Seok, Director of External Relations, Kim Cheon-hong, spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, Hong Joon, CEO of Korean University Newspaper, and Nam Sung Hee, President of the Korean Council for University College Education (KCCE).
□ Since its establishment in 1982, Hallym University has been developing its student education programs with the vision of 'student-centered education, global research, and coexistence with the local community'. In particular, for its goal of coexistence with the local community, it has continued to hold events in cooperation with the Gangwon region, such as volunteer house repair work and climbing competitions.
□ After the appointment of President Choi Yanghee in September 2021, 'Vision 2030+' was established with developing Hallym into an 'Open University' as one its key development goals.
□ Hwang Hyeon-Seok, Director of External Relations, who attended the ceremony, said, “I am grateful to receive this meaningful award. We will continue to be reborn as a university that continues to cooperate with the region.”
