Hallym University has a student population of just over 8,000 students. The compact campus and on-site accommodation makes it easy for students to access any part of the campus within a 15-minute walk. 

The entire campus has free high speed internet, allowing you to work in any location that suits your needs.

Each exchange student is assigned to a school, based on their study focus, during their exchange period. Each student is also assigned a Korean ‘buddy’ at the start of the semester. The ratio of exchange student to Hallym Korean Buddy can vary by semester. 

Your buddy will usually help you through your initial adjustment to campus life. The compulsory orientation held at the beginning of each semester also gives new exchange students the chance to quickly meet each other and bond.

Optional weekend trips are also organized by the buddies once or twice a semester. Recent trips have included the East Coast and Seoul.

The multi-award winning Ilsong Memorial Library carries over 700,000 books, 50,000 non-book materials and has a capacity of over 2000 seats. All class material and lecture information is hosted on Hallym University’s ‘Smart LEAD’ website, allowing 24-7 access to course information and lecture material.

Hallym has three canteens that serve a variety of Korean food, as well as an on-campus bakery and several convenience stores, cafes and a bank. The recently renovated Campus Life Center acts as a hub for student life. It contains a Post Office, Restaurant, Global Lounge, Bakery, Student Radio Station, Free Gym, Dance Studio, as well as being home to all of the student clubs and sports clubs.

Hallym Rec Center also has an additional gym, swimming pool, sports hall and squash court, if students wish to sign up for membership.

Hallym’s excellent sporting facilities continue outside with an all-weather sports pitch set at the foot of Bongui Mountain, surrounded by beautiful views of Chuncheon.

Hallym hosts several student festivals throughout the year, the largest of which is the ‘Bibong Festival,’ a three-day event held every May. During the festival there are live music performances, food festivals and various other activities organized by the student clubs.
